Shopping on Antoine Dansaert street

After having a drink or a bite to eat at the Walvis café, start your visit by walking down the street from the Brussels canal towards the Bourse. Stop at the Place du Nouveau Marché aux Grains, home of MAD, the Made in Brussels fashion and design platform. Just opposite is the Q-Park Dansaert. Go around the bus station towards rue Léon Lepage. Head further north near the Sainte-Catherine metro station for a stroll through the fish market, a lively and popular place for locals. Not far from there, go for a Sunday brunch at the Velvet café, Quai au Bois Brûler.

A neighborhood with a brusseleir spirit near the sacred islet

Dansaert is a lively neighborhood with excellent public transport links. Close to the Ilot Sacré, a posh Brussels neighborhood known for the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert, its cinemas including the Nova where you can watch an art film or the Royal Theater of Toone and its emblematic puppets, Dansaert is above all a neighborhood where multilingualism dominates. Here, French, Dutch and English can be heard on every street corner. In the evening, groups form, the atmosphere rises and the cocktail bars and other cafés fill up.
